Froggy Haven
Frogs will greet you everywhere in the Helmers garden in Northern Kansas City. Gary and Connie have a suberban neighborhood garden with over 400 daylilies. Gary started with a ‘blank slate’ in 2003 and developed it to what it is today. He has cultivars from 1924 to 2026, and twenty-four Region 11 hybridizers are represented. Three Steven Stoll seedlings are growing in one bed, and hopefully they will be blooming for the tour. Cobalt blue containers dot the landscape along with a few water features. Hosta, clematis, oriental lilies, and several varieties of shrubs and trees complement the daylilies. And there will be over 75 frogs ready to greet you!
